A Family-Owned Company

We’re not a franchise. We’re not a giant company with layers of dispatchers and mystery techs. We’re a father-and-son team based right here in Queens, and we take pride in doing every job ourselves—from Park Slope to Middle Village. You’ll always know who’s coming to your door, and you’ll always get honest answers.

Three Generations, One Trade

Our company started decades ago with our grandfather, passed down through our father, and now runs with both of us working side by side every day. This isn’t just what we do—it’s who we are. When you call us for help, you’re calling a family that’s been doing plumbing & heating work the right way for over 40 years.

We’ve worked in basements across Bushwick, handled boiler replacements in Forest Hills, and installed piping in homes from Carroll Gardens to Ridgewood. Every job, no matter the size, gets our full attention.

In Loving Memory of Michael Cavaliere

Founder, Veteran, Firefighter, and Family Man
Michael Cavaliere grew up in 1930s Long Island City, Queens, and lived a life defined by service, strength, and dedication. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard an LST ship, where he learned plumbing in the engine rooms and rose to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After returning home, he worked as a plumber before joining the New York City Fire Department, serving with honor in Corona’s Ladder Company 138 for 16 years.

In 1979, after retiring from the FDNY, Michael founded Big Apple Plumbing & Heating alongside his son, Ken Cavaliere Sr. He brought with him a lifetime of experience and values that still guide the company today—honesty, hard work, and pride in doing the job right. That tradition has since been passed on to his grandson, Ken Jr., who continues the legacy Michael began more than four decades ago.

Michael’s impact is still felt every day on the job sites, in the way we treat our customers, and in the family-first spirit that drives our work. We are proud to carry on what he started.
